Fundamental
Chemistry: Theory and Practice
This unit provides a broad introduction to some of the
foundation principles in general chemistry. In exploring
the virtual laboratory you will be able to learn more about
the structure of atoms, the properties of elements and how
chemical substances react with each other. You'll also learn
how to calculate the quantities of chemicals needed to give
required product yields or concentrations of solutions.
The chemistry of carbon is introduced by looking at hydrocarbons
used in fuel generation and the main classes of compounds
important in biochemistry.
